www.pld-linux.org news:

"13 July 2009 Th: ppc and athlon unmaintained

ppc and athlon architectures in PLD Th line will become officialy deprecated
at the end of July 2009 and moved out of official directory at PLD ftp server.
Users of athlon arch are asked to switch to i686. ppc fate is unknown (there
is a chance of keeping ppc alive in form of unofficial branch)."

Reasons:
- athlon arch provides almost no gain over i686
- lack of fast ppc server acting as builder (current one is slow and breaks
too often) and, what is more important, lack of developer power to handle ppc
arch

So sb needs to update or shorten the summary on main page: "wide variety of
architectures" will mean one really supported then (3 models, 2 ABIs)

It happened.

ppc unfortunately is abandoned. sparky didn't step up to maintain it as a
separate branch.
